Have you been thinking about running a youth exchange? CYEC can provide you with support, guidance and funding to run a youth led exchange between a group in the United Kingdom and a group in the Commonwealth.

CYEC have produced a Youth Exchange Starter Pack with all the information you will need to start planning your Youth Exchange.

Guidelines for funding and Grant Application forms for 2009/2010 is now available to download.

In Particular we would ask you to be aware of the following:

• CYEC receives more grant applications that it can fund; meeting the criteria does not automatically result in a grant

• It would be helpful if some youth exchange programmes matched current British Council priority intercultural dialogue themes. These themes match CYEC's own interests and in 2010/11 we will particularly welcome applications with the following themes:

       * Community Cohesion
       * Active Global Citizenship
       * Climate Change
  

• Priority will be given to new and innovative proposals

• Priority will be given to involving organisations not previously very active and involveing young people who would not normally have the opportunity to participate in exchange programmes

• Recurrent funding for ongoing exchange is not guaranteed; if funding is possible it may not be at the level of prior awards
