6 Young People had the opportunity to take part in the British Council Discovery Event which took place in Selsdon Park Hotel yes. This event was an opportunity for leaders from across Africa to meet with young people from the UK and hear about important issues in relation to the UK and Africa in a creative way. The leaders had the opportunity to listen to music and poems, get involved with dance and hear the voices of young activists and entrepreneurs.

After the performances, the leaders and young people had a chance to sit down and have one to one discussions about some of the issues concerning them both here in the UK and Africa.

By the end of the evening it was clear that both parties were keen to see a new space created where both young people and leaders can come together on neutral ground to find ways to help in the development of Africa.
